How early to arrive
Airlines and the airport ask passengers to be at check-in 2 to 3 hours before departure. Allow more on Friday evenings, around Lunar New Year and on summer weekends, and add the time it takes to switch terminals if you came to the wrong one (see terminals).
In-town check-in
China Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, EVA Air, UNI Air, Cathay Pacific and STARLUX offer same-day check-in with bag drop at the Airport MRT Taipei Main Station (A1), 06:00 to 21:30, at least 3 hours before departure. A3 New Taipei Industrial Park also serves some airlines, including Tigerair Taiwan.
Security screening
- Liquids, gels and aerosols in cabin bags: containers of 100 ml or less in one clear resealable bag.
- Power banks and spare lithium batteries go in your carry-on, never in checked bags. Airlines may limit their number and use on board.
- Take laptops and large electronics out if asked. Empty water bottles can be refilled airside.
Baggage
Bags arrive on the belt shown on the arrivals board. For delayed or damaged bags, report it at your airline’s baggage service counter before you leave the baggage hall. Luggage storage counters operate landside in both terminals (fees apply), handy before a transit tour.
