Compare the right airlines
- Full-service Taiwanese carriers: EVA Air, China Airlines and STARLUX fly long-haul and across Asia from TPE.
- Low-cost carriers: Tigerair Taiwan, Peach, Jetstar Japan, Scoot, Korean low-cost airlines and AirAsia group airlines mostly use Terminal 1.
- Foreign carriers: see the full airline list, built from the airport’s flight data.
Low-cost fine print
Base fares on low-cost carriers often exclude checked bags, seat selection and meals. Add them up before you compare. Arrival and departure times matter too: a flight landing after the last Airport MRT train means a bus or a taxi into the city (see getting to Taipei).
Taoyuan or Songshan?
Taipei also has Songshan Airport (TSA) in the city, with a smaller set of regional routes, mainly to Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Gimpo, Shanghai Hongqiao and domestic islands. If a Songshan flight fits, it saves the trip in from Taoyuan. Everything else uses TPE.
